‘Books are uniquely portable magic.’ – Stephen King
A Book Week-Readathon, held from August 18 to 25, 2025, was a resounding success. Students in Grades 1 and 2 enthusiastically participated, and the ‘D.E.A.R.’ program encouraged young learners to Drop Everything And Read, fostering a passion for reading and improving literacy skills. Students brought their favourite storybooks and created inviting reading corners, reading sessions sparked curiosity, and students discovered new words, characters, and stories. Creative activities followed, with students illustrating favourite characters, inventing new book titles, and designing cover pages. The book collection thus created offered around 150 books for Grade 1, more than 100 books for Grade 2, sparking a love for reading among young learners. This engaging event fostered critical thinking, imagination, and storytelling skills. The week was filled with joy, creativity, and a love for reading, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
