Dipsite in Germany!
Our students went to Theodor Heuss Gymnasium, Ludwighafen, Germany under a student exchange programme from June 1 to June 19, 2017. The students were placed with host families and were involved in the School’s activities from June 2 itself. They went for a short trip to the picturesque town of Heidelberg, where they were awed by the Heidelberg Schloss (castle). At the school, Dipsites were given their time table and attended German, English and Music lessons which were very interesting. Their trip to Speyer gave them the opportunity to explore the Imperial Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption and St Stephen. They also visited the Schloss Hof palace and learnt about history of Germany.
The trip to BASF ( Baden Aniline and Soda Factory) allowed the students an insight into the vital role played by chemistry in changing and shaping the world of today. The journey to Berlin was made via train and students enjoyed at the Potsdamer Platz and attend the open cinema. Students spent the day exploring the historic city and were moved during the visit to the Die Mauer (The wall).
Students also visited Rausch, a famous chocolate store, Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag Building, the Holocaust Memorial and Museum and the National Museum of Art. As the trip came to a close, the students dressed in Indian attire and presented a small cultural fiesta to show their gratitude towards the hosts.
