It was a battle of sharp intellect at the ANNUAL INTER-DPS NATIONAL SCIENCE FESTIVAL -2017 held at DPS Expressway, GBN on Dec 23, 2017. The programme was an initiative of the DPS Society.

64 Delhi Public Schools from across the nation registered for the online event with around 630 students. 32 schools participated in onsite event with around 225 students and 50 teachers.

 The online events: ‘Innovative Footprints’, ‘Serendipity- Book of Ideas’ and ‘Science on Canvas’ saw the enthusiastic  participation of 410 students from 32 Delhi Public Schools. Renowned experts were called to judge the onsite events: ‘Advit (Advertisement enactment)’, ‘Transformers (working models)’ and ‘Action – Reaction (role play)’.

Dr Zeenat Khader, Joint Secretary, the DPS Society, was present to encourage the participants.  The Inaugural Ceremony was held in the morning to welcome all the participants. The Chief Guest of the event was Dr Sudipta Ghose, Member, School Managing Committee who declared the fest open.  The participants were welcomed with the recital of Taal Kalam by the school Band Crescendo. The school choir presented a mesmerising rendition of Guru Tagore’s epic ‘Ekla Chalo re. A presentation titled SciTech on young innovators of India was also shown to the audience. Teachers attended a workshop on developing leadership qualities while the students were being assessed by the judges.

The valedictory ceremony was held in the afternoon, Prof Sunaina Kumar, Former Director, School of Humanities, IGNOU was the Chief Guest of the event.  Book of Ideas and Innovative Footprints DVD were also released. Prizes and Certificates were distributed to the winners and participants. The ceremony ended with vote of thanks.
